In my earlier posting today I had intended to include a link that a reader pointed me to in a comment to one of my posts:

When Good Players Go Mets (part 1)

The writer, also named Mike (but not me, honest), is writing a series on free agents that came to the Mets and fizzled. Part 1 was Beltran and Roger Cedeno. There is already a part 2 about the dreaded Vince Coleman.

BTW, the person who posted the comment used the screen name "pepespizza", which is a great name to those of us that know that New Haven, CT is the center of the pizza-eating universe.
