Mets 2 - Dodgers 1
Aaron Heilman held his serve in the dogfight for the fifth starter job, limiting the Dodgers to a run on 6 singles in 5 innings. He struck out 3 and walked none. Lefties Darren Oliver and Pedro Feliciano and right-handers Chad Bradford and Jorge Julio combined to hold LA off the board the rest of the way.
The Mets didn't manage much offense against Dodger pitching, either. Carlos Delgado and Jose Reyes both had 2-hit games. Lastings Milledge doubled in Jose Valentin with the winning run with 2 outs in the ninth.
The Mets will travel to Jupiter to face the Marlins tomorrow. Jose Lima and Yusaku Iriki are scheduled to pitch.
