Mets Flip Indians the Byrd

Mets 7 - Indians 1
Yusaku Iriki allowed one run in 3 innings, scattering 1 hit and 3 BBs. Juan Perez, Mitch Wylie, Matt Perisho, Bartolome Fortunato and Heath Bell held Cleveland scoreless the rest of the way.

The Mets scored all 7 runs off of Indians starter (and former Met) Paul Byrd. Anderson Hernandez and Jeff Keppinger had 2 hit games for the Mets, while journeyman catcher Sandy Martinez had a home run. Lastings Milledge drove in 2 runs without a hit, and also had a stolen base in 2 attempts against former Red Sox farmhand Kelly Shoppach.

The Mets hit the road again tomorrow to face the Astros in Kissimmee. Aaron Heilman will match up with Roy Oswalt.
