In his Surfing the Mets blog, Daily News Mets beat writer Adam Rubin is reporting that Pedro Martinez will indeed go on the Disabled List until after the All-Star break, and Heath Bell will come back north from Norfolk to take his spot.
Rubin also says that the Mets plan to call up Mike Pelfrey to pitch one of the Saturday games along with John Maine. No mention of who the Mets will send down to make room for Pelfrey. If I were Pedro Feliciano, I might consider apologizing to Willie again, just to make sure. Seriously, though, who the heck will it be? Stay tuned.
With Pedro on the DL, and the two kids pitching Saturday, you know what time it will be Friday night ...
... Lima Time! (May God help us all.)

Is it me or do you think Minaya is taking preemptive action in trying to sort out the rotation problem by bringing in Owens. By bringing Owens in and seeing if he can handle the 7th inning, Omar may be relieving Heilman of that duty and giving him his wish which is to start. I don't think Omar wants to give up too much by trade. This may be a great move if Owens comes in and does a job.

I'd like to believe that, Chris, but they tried to bring back Heath Bell first, and only called up Owens when that failed. I hope we get a chance to see him this weekend.
