Sorry I didn't post earlier today. I went to New York City to be interviewed by the Mets Weekly people. It was an interesting and somewhat humbling experience. Funny, but when someone sticks a camera in your face your I.Q. can drop a few points really quick. In any case, if I managed to stammer out an intelligible sentence that they feel might be useful to the program you might see me on the show later this month. If any of my answers survived the cutting room floor, I'm curious myself to see just how moronic I looked and sounded.
I'll be back tomorrow with the regular post. Here's a couple of quick items if you missed them:
Daily News: Mike Pelfrey
Adam Rubin has an excellent article on Mike Pelfrey, who has worked with Rick Peterson to add an effective slider to his repertoire.
Rubin also has an audio interview with Pelfrey posted to his blog.
Mets.com: New Mailbag
Marty Noble is answering fan questions is his own funny yet cranky way.
Mets Walkoffs: The year in walkoffs
Mets Walkoffs, one of the best and most creative of Mets blogs, offers their 2006 year in review.
Lone Star Mets: Should they stay or should they go?
Dan offers his thumbs up and thumbs down on Mets free agents.

The W/Sox are expected to trade a pitcher. Who would look the best for us if the price is right? ..Jose CONTRERAS 13-9/ 4.27/ 196 ip/ 55 bb/ 134 kk.....Freddy GARCIA 17-9/ 4.53/ 216 ip/ 48 bb/135 kk.....Javier VAZQUEZ 11-12/ 4.84/ 201 ip/56 bb/ 184kk....Mark BUEHRIE 12-13/ 4.99/204 ip/ 48 bb/ 98kk....One or their needs is a set up man for the closer Bobby Jenks.

Rev - For what little it's worth, I don't love any of their pitchers. I guess it would depend on what you'd have to give up.

I actually liked Garcia down the stretch this season. He was pitching well at the end of the year. If the price was not bad/nothing I would be ok with Freddy (I'll allways love his Uncle Jerry though)...

I have a feeling given the current market for starting pitching that an established starting pitcher could be kind of expensive.
