Hi everyone. Lisa and I have been house hunting for the past few months. A couple of days ago we found something we really liked in our price range, and today we found out our bid has been accepted. It's the first house for both of us.
Here's a picture from the realtor's site. Not the greatest, but you get the idea:

I've got a ton of things to do over the next few days. I'll probably post, but I'll hold off on the bullpen previews until the end of the week. My mind isn't really in it right now.

Congratulations on your new house! Some advice, always get at least three estimates for any work that you need to have done on the house in the future - this not only allows you to try and get the best price, but also to hear different opinions on solutions to problems. The cheapest solution is not always best.

Nice place..... congrats.......
on another note .....
Anyone who gets the cable package for all the games will not be happy this year.

Im on cable and have had 'extra innings' for the last 3 seasons. Its not cheap at 150ish for the season but a big fan will get there moneys worth... I told myself I would not get it this year so I cant say im that mad but once again the fan looses.....

Sorry - hit the Post button prematurely...
Mike,
Congratulations - that's a nice looking piece of real estate. Some unsolicited advice and a question:
1) Stay away from adjustable mortgage rates - they're a killer, and they NEVER adjust down.
2) Find a good termite guy to check on the house each year. It's money well spent.
3) Find a nice blue and orange interior paint combo - I believe Lowe's has designer shades like that.
Now the question: When's the housewarming party?

Hey contrats on your new house, it looks really nice and homey to me!
My advice is to use contacts (like your real estate agent) to find a reputable mover. Particularly one that a real estate agent sends a lot of business too, because they wouldn't want to kill the gravy train of referrals. I've heard and read and seen (on TV) a lot of horror stories about moves, with movers shaking down customers for more cash or they keep your stuff, and, not to scare you, but I want to prepare you for a possible problem area.
Congrats again!

I'm house hunting too, in Atlanta. Glad you found a place, keep warm!

Mark - The lawn doesn't bother me. I hate trimming shrubs, so I suspect some of those will be removed from that yard once we take over.
Thanks again, everyone, for the good wishes and good advice.

Good luck on the house, Mike. Take it easy during the move and don't try to be a hero. Love is fleeting, but a back injury is forever...
