Received this email today:
This summer, Nike and David Wright are giving local Little Leagues the opportunity to look and feel like their favorite Big League team. This season, for every homerun the Mets third baseman hits, Nike will donate $1,000 worth of new equipment to a selected Little League team in the five boroughs. So far, $12,000 has been allotted for the program from Wright's 12 home runs.Players, coaches, friends and family are encouraged to nominate their hometown teams by telling Nike and Wright why they love baseball and why their team deserves new gear. All submissions should be sent to WrightOn@nike.com by June 30, 2007.
If you're involved with a Little League team, why not take a shot at this?
Good thing they're not basing this program on Mets wins in June...

How about a group of 15 year olds playing in a 15-18 year old league getting dominated does that count? :D

No for it to be the mets it would have to be a bunch of 18 year olds getting dominated by a bunch of 15-16 year olds ;)

I'd laugh if there wasn't a grain of truth in that...
