New Orleans native and Mets fan Chad Bordelon passes along a close encounter with Phillip Humber in the stands of a Zephyrs game while Humber was charting pitches:
By the way I sat next to Phil Humber for the last half of the game. This guy is gold. He's the kind of guy you want you daughter to marry. Real down to earth humble guy, but has fire in him. I asked him about Rick Peterson (who I think is a God) and he said yea he's great has helped a lot of guys with his info, but then said when it comes to game time it's really the man with the ball who has to do it. I could see the fire in his eyes. He pitched well yesterday by the way. I also talked to him about how you need to be in the right place at the right time and spoke of how he would be in the majors if he was on the Yankees and he changed the subject to how great all the Mets were and how he really looks forward to one day getting to play with them (and not the Yanks (I added that)).
