Mets 5 - Dodgers 2
Played Friday, August 24, 2007
Sorry for the quick post today, but I'm juggling a couple of major projects this weekend.
Although he wasn't razor sharp with his control, Oliver Perez bounced back in a big way last night against LA. His velocity was back up and the slider was breaking much more sharply. 7 shutout innings allowed Perez to capture his twelfth win of the season with over a month left to go. We can now reasonably hope for at least a 5-day moratorium on gloom-and-doom Perez stories.

It was a solid game offensively, led by a resurgent David Wright. After looking absolutely lost at the plate in April, Wright has really bounced back well. Maybe he could share some insights with Carlos Delgado, who had made some strides in July only to fall back into his early year struggles since returning from a minor injury.
