Update on Reverend Al

Mike SteffanosSunday, September 9, 2007
By Mike Steffanos

Al's wife Selma passes along the great news that Reverend Al is now home from the hospital and doing well. He even left a comment the other day (I assume via Selma).

About Mike: I was the original writer on this web site, actually its only writer for the first 15 months of existence. Although I am grateful for the excellent contributions of my fellow writers here, I have no plans of stepping back into strictly an editorial role. I started this thing in the first place because I love to write and I love the Mets, and blogging here keeps me somewhat sane. If you haven't had enough already, more bio info can be found here.

Mike, this is good news. I hope he continues to get better, and is ready for the stretch run ahead. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Al.

Hi Gang, I am home and doing o.k., all my doctors and friends have to keep reminding me, if I should complain how tired I feel or if I am aliile sore here and there, they all say "you had major surgery" a nice way of saying "what the heck to you expect stupid". I was able to watch the two Astro games on t.v. and Wagner in the 9th, just with no screaming or yelling. If Wagner would have gotten some guys on I think I would have put on the history channel.Looking forward to Pedro today.I just got to take it slow, I had major surgery you know. Thanks gang for hanging in there with me, it's good to be back. The Mets look like they want it now. Lets go Mets.

REV - It's only major surgery if it's happening to you, not to someone else.

Like Pedro, may you continue to get better with age.

Let's go Mets, and Let's Go REV!

Thank God Rev, glad to see your at home, and doing well. Take it easy, and conserve your strength. The postseason is only a few weeks away, and a healthy Rev and Mrs. Rev are just what the doctor ordered!

Memo to the Mets: Win One (World Series, That Is) For The Reverend!!!
