Game 108: Marlins 7 - Mets 5
Sorry to be so late with this. My food poisoning from early in the week has proven to be the gift that keeps giving, as I struggle to shake off the effects and catch up on the work.
It was disappointing that the Mets had 3 winnable games in Florida and only managed to take one, but that's baseball. I just want to see them bounce back against Houston.
As for Mike Pelfrey, it will be interesting to see what adjustments he makes after this one. He had a couple of tough starts against the Yankees and Angels during his winning streak, but this was by far his worst start in a while. Still, he didn't walk anybody, which is a good sign. I still want to see how he bounces back from this one.
First place was nice while it lasted, and I hope they get there again. Back to the salt mines for me.

First off, feel better Mike, food poisoning is tough, I've had a bout or two myself. As for Pelf, he pitched well for 3 and then it looked like the humidity got to him as he labored and began to tire. Still like you said both losses were winable games. Slightly irked that they did not pick up a reliver or two at the deadline, they say waiver wire trade, but as we have come to know those trades are usually tough to make. The Dodgers outfield is now over-crowded, maybe one of those youngsters might be available, maybe not. Well it's back to the grind in Houston.........Lets Go Mets!

Get well Mike. I had bad shrimp last year and thought I was going to die, I haven't had shrimp since and don't plan on any real soon. Food poisoning is rough on your system, untill everything is out, one way or another, but it has to comes out. No trades. Sometimes doing nothing is better in the long run. It's just a matter that we face a short run ahead of us and could use help now. Tough call about our youth needed to make any deal.
