John Delcos Update

By Mike Steffanos

I guess I'm a bit late on this -- what else is new lately? -- but this was something for those of you who might have missed it.

Former Journal News Mets beat reporter John Delcos has a new blog, John Delcos' NY Mets Report, hosted byNY Sports Day.

I had wondered what happened to Delcos, who did an especially terrific job with his blog for the Journal News. I found a link to Delcos' new blog in a post yesterday from Ken Davidoff.

John explains what happened with the Journal News and what his future plans are in this post.

For myself, while I don't know John personally I always respected the terrific job he did in what was by far the best beat writer's blog on the Mets. More than that, I thought he was the one guy who really "got it" last year and understood how deeply hurt Mets fans were by the September meltdown. As a Mets fan who really enjoyed what John brought to the table, I can only hope that his fine career resumes ASAP.

About Mike: I was the original writer on this web site, actually its only writer for the first 15 months of existence. Although I am grateful for the excellent contributions of my fellow writers here, I have no plans of stepping back into strictly an editorial role. I started this thing in the first place because I love to write and I love the Mets, and blogging here keeps me somewhat sane. If you haven't had enough already, more bio info can be found here.

I am touched and grateful for your kind words about my work. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

With every good wish,
