Game 146: Braves 3 - Mets 2 (Saturday Afternoon)
Game 147: Mets 5 - Braves 0 (Saturday Night)
Game 148: Braves 7 - Mets 4 (Sunday)

Sorry, everybody. I really got jammed up with work today. I've been keeping up with that by working weekends, but I spent all day Saturday in New York at the ballpark.

At this point of the season I'm not sure that I have much to bring to the table that I haven't already talked about, anyway. As I wrote yesterday, this team is what it is, and there was nothing that happened this weekend that comes under the category of a total shock.

I'm curious to see if they can bounce back again from another dreadful setback, given that the season is winding down and the pressure is ratcheting up. I don't really have a strong feeling on that one way or the other.

I always felt that September would be a one game at a time proposition, which is why you won't find me talking about magic numbers here no matter what happens.

I'll try to bring more to the table tomorrow as time permits. Let's go Mets.

About Mike: I was the original writer on this web site, actually its only writer for the first 15 months of existence. Although I am grateful for the excellent contributions of my fellow writers here, I have no plans of stepping back into strictly an editorial role. I started this thing in the first place because I love to write and I love the Mets, and blogging here keeps me somewhat sane. If you haven't had enough already, more bio info can be found here.

Half game lead, this team has to get it restarted. The last two games are unacceptable during a pennant race. The bullpen is so unreliable, and the offense has stalled, again, at the wrong time. Just when you thought it was safe to buy playoff tickets the 400 pound gorilla pounces on the Mets. No repeat, No surrender! Lets Go Mets.
