Game 23: Phillies 6 - Mets 5 (10)
Ollie Perez was once again awful in a supposed make or break game, but the Mets scored some runs off Jamie Moyer, who usually pitches well against them. 40-year-old rookie Ken Takahashi gave them 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief while they climbed back in.
It became a battle of the bullpens with the Mets up 5-4, but Pedro Feliciano allowed his second home run to a lefty in consecutive games to bring it back to even.
Parnell and Putz kept the Phillies off the board through the eighth, but the Mets couldn't break through against the Phillies bullpen.
Sean Green, who looks terrible of late, had two outs and runners on first and second with a chance to keep the game going. Instead, he walked Chris Coste to load the bases and then Shane Victorino to give the game away,
The loss drops the Mets back to 3 games under .500.
