Checking In

Sorry for disappearing on you for a few days. On top of work I was trying to write something on my concern with the way the Mets are handling top prospect Jenrry Mejia. I do think it's a mistake that I will write something about soon, but I finally abandoned the longer piece I was writing tying in the way they're handling Mejia this year with the mistakes of the past. It wound up being a darker piece than I want to write at this time of year. I just wish I hadn't been so stubborn and wasted so many days on it,

As for today, I will be heading into NYC in a little while for tonight's Amazin' Tuesday at Two Boots Tavern on Grand Street. Full details here. I'm looking forward to seeing some of my Mets friends who I haven't seen since last fall. If you can make it I highly recommend it.

Just got the great news on Jose Reyes. Even though it's raining here in Connecticut it seems to me that the day just got a little brighter.

I promise to be back soon with a real post.

About Mike: I was the original writer on this web site, actually its only writer for the first 15 months of existence. Although I am grateful for the excellent contributions of my fellow writers here, I have no plans of stepping back into strictly an editorial role. I started this thing in the first place because I love to write and I love the Mets, and blogging here keeps me somewhat sane. If you haven't had enough already, more bio info can be found here.

Yes some light at the end of the tunnel. I'll take it. The darkness has been closing in on me, to many question marks about this team with play ball just days away.It will be good just to see Jose smile again.
