I have written a new guest post for Joe Janish's Mets Today blog. I wrote about the dilemma the Mets face in deciding if they will pursue a contract with Jose Reyes and, if they do, how far they are willing to go. Please check it out.
I have some further thoughts on the subject that I'll try to post here in the next day or so.
About Mike: I was the original writer on this web site, actually its only writer for the first 15 months of existence. Although I am grateful for the excellent contributions of my fellow writers here, I have no plans of stepping back into strictly an editorial role. I started this thing in the first place because I love to write and I love the Mets, and blogging here keeps me somewhat sane. If you haven't had enough already, more bio info can be found here.

I checked out your quest post and it's good to read you sgain. My question about Reyes is how long can he stay healthy? More then 5 years for anybody on the Mets, seem's unrealistic now days, even without a health issue in their history.

That's the $64,000 question, Al. I think if they could sign him to a 5-year deal they should do it, but anything longer (unless there are option years tied to games played) would really worry me.
